Training
Audiology is a very dynamic field within the National Health
Service and there are various career pathways for individuals
wishing to pursue Audiology as a career. There are many
opportunities available in addition to working within the NHS
including working within the private sector, in research institutes
and in Universities.
Current career pathways:
BSc Audiology (4years)
Details:
- Years 1,2,4 will involve lectures, practical classes and
short placements at an NHS Audiology department
- Year 3 will be spent as a full time clinical training year
in one or two NHS Audiology departments
Entry Requirements:
- 3 'A' Levels
- 1 should be a science subject
Funding:
- Fees are paid by the NHS
- Eligible to apply for a means-tested NHS bursary
- A training salary will be paid during year 3

MSc/PGDip Audiology
Details:
- 1 year full time (MSc)/ 9 month full time (PGDip)
- Involves lectures, practical's and short placements
- MSc includes a dissertation research project component
- Course will need to followed by a clinical training period (see

- Honours undergraduate degree in a science or relevant
subject

offer further training to existing Audiologists.
- Here at Chester we are accredited for training within Adult
Rehabilitation and First Line Diagnostic Assessment, Tinnitus and
Hypercausis, Paediatric Assessment and Habilitation modules.
