Urgent Care Division
The Urgent Care Division manages the emergency flow of patients from the Emergency Department, through assessment, inpatient stay, discharge and rehabilitation.
It provides a comprehensive range of quality services supported by experienced clinical experts who have access to leading edge equipment and facilities which include:
- Newly refurbished Emergency Department incorporating an emergency and surgical assessment unit
- A 27 bedded Acute Medical Unit
- A 10 bedded Coronary Care Unit
- A Critical Care Unit with 8 high dependency Beds and 8 intensive care beds
- 11 inpatients wards
- 2 rehabilitation/intermediate care wards
- A Stroke Unit combining acute care and rehabilitation
- Neonatal Unit with 16 cots
- Children's Unit including both hospital and community paediatrics
- A Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
- A Cardio Respiratory and Vascular Laboratory
- An integrated Sexual Health Service
- Genetics Service
- Palliative Care Service
There are over 1,000 staff in the Division, all committed to delivering the Trust's vision of "Care at its Best, these include medical, nursing, professional technical, administration and clerical/management.
