Mr Sharma is a highly trained Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. His NHS practice is at The Countess of Chester Hospital where he was appointed to help with the Breast Reconstruction service as this is his specialist sub interest. He is also a core member of the skin, breast and orthoplastic multidisciplinary teams. He offers all aspects of plastic surgery and tailors bespoke treatment to the individual patient’s needs. He is known for his attention to detail, his excellent bedside manner and professionalism, as well as always delivering safe, kind and effective care to his patients.

After graduating with honours from Cambridge University Medical School, Mr Sharma went back to teach Anatomy to the university medical students. He then completed his higher Plastic Surgical Training within the prestigious Pan Thames programme in London working at leading plastic surgery units of St George's Hospital, The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals, The Royal Free Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. Following this he was awarded the International Fellow position at the world renowned St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During this tenure he gained invaluable experience into all fields of Plastic Surgery including Breast and Cosmetic Surgery, Sarcoma, Head and Neck, Skin Cancer, Hand Surgery and Trauma Surgery.

Mr Sharma has also undertaken additional fellowships including the highly sought after Microsurgical Breast Fellowships in Chelmsford and the prestigious Wellington Cosmetic Fellowship. During this time he worked at the some of the country’s top hospitals, including The Wellington Hospital and King Edward VII Hospital in London and the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns. This extensive world class training has enabled Mr Sharma to offer his patients the latest and safest plastic surgery techniques from across the world. Alongside his clinical work he is actively involved in research. He has published extensively and presented his work both nationally and internationally. He was heavily involved with the world’s first documented four DIEP breast reconstruction free flaps in four different patients in one day in a single operating theatre. He has also been involved in patient education pieces during his training on National Television programmes as he is strong believer is sharing information with the public and educating them and his patients about health related matters.  Mr Sharma has a passion for and takes great pride in training of the next generation of plastic surgeons. He is heavily involved in training and educating plastic surgery training doctors in the department especially when they come up to sit their Consultant Plastic Surgeon exams. He is also the current Countess of Chester STEC Deanery representative for plastic surgery training. Mr Sharma has also had GPs with a specialist interest in skin surgery and junior doctors/visiting doctors attached to his firm to help share his knowledge and specialist skills.
