Buildings & Engineering Maintenance Services
The Building and Engineering Management Team report to the Head
of Estates. The principle responsibility of this staff group is to
provide a reactive and planned mechanical, electrical and building
service to the Trust.

The work undertaken is diverse and includes the responsibility for
maintaining many complex and highly critical services such as
emergency generators, sterilizers, air conditioning and boiler
plants. The department also leads the way in energy saving by
providing advice to staff and using the department's expertise to
efficiently control utilities.
The Building and Engineering Managers who lead these sections
are supported by Estates Officers and they have responsibility for
a group of about twenty skilled craftsmen and higher level
maintenance assistants.
An Estates Service is provided twenty-four hours a day, seven
days a week including a system for calling staff out in an
emergency.
