SDEC: for GPs
Same day emergency care (SDEC) is a service within the Acute Medicine specialty for assessing, diagnosing and treating adults requiring urgent and emergency medical care. It is an area which provides same day emergency care in conjunction with the ambulatory clinic, and also provides an area where a large proportion of medical referrals can initially be managed before being discharged or admitted to the AMU.
