Rewarding Our Staff
We want to acknowledge and thank staff for going above and beyond for our patients.
Each month, staff can nominate colleagues to receive the employee of the month award or the team of the month award in recognition of the support they have given to our patients, services or to their colleagues.
Staff can also nominate themselves or others in our annual Celebration of Achievement Awards which take place each September.
Patients, visitors and staff can nominate someone from our hospitals for a monthly award.

We want our staff to feel valued in their work and we want to create a positive culture of excellence to help us maintain the highest standards of care in our hospitals.

Employee of the Month: Kev Harrower
Recognised for his dedication and problem-solving during recent office moves, Kev went above and beyond - working weekends and ensuring a seamless transition for the People Services team. His meticulous planning and hands-on support made a lasting impact.
Team of the Month: Pharmacy Homecare Team
Recognised for their innovation and teamwork, the Pharmacy Homecare Team has supported 2,500 patients with home-delivered medicines while easing pressure on hospital services. Through initiatives like switching to more cost-effective medications, they’ve saved approximately £1 million in the past year - an incredible achievement that’s improved care and efficiency.

Employee of the Month: Bismark Adjei
Bismark Adjei, a valued member of the Plastics team, was recognised as Employee of the Month for his commitment to teamwork and the respectful, supportive environment he fosters. He plays a key role in mentoring students and inspiring future professionals in Hand Therapy. Bismark consistently goes above and beyond to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to both patients and colleagues—thank you, Bismark!
Team of the Month: Theatre Recovery
The Theatre Recovery team were recognised as Team of the Month for their exceptional teamwork and dedication to patient care. Known for consistently going above and beyond, they ensure patients are safe, comfortable, and pain-free. Their willingness to step in and support other areas—such as cleaning bays to enable smooth patient transfers—highlights their commitment and collaborative spirit. Thank you for all that you do!

Kevin James, a valued member of the Estates team, was recognised as Employee of the Month for his kindness, collaboration, positivity, and outstanding work. With over 45 years of service, Kevin’s deep knowledge and calm presence have made a lasting impact across the Trust. His dedication ensures our hospitals remain safe, comfortable, and fully operational for both patients and staff—thank you, Kevin!
Team of the Month: Clinical Site Co-ordinators
The Clinical Site Co-ordinators team were named Team of the Month for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to patient care. Known for their calm, reassuring presence and tireless efforts, they play a vital role in keeping the Trust running smoothly and safely. Their work behind the scenes ensures operational excellence and supports every corner of the organisation—thank you for all that you do!

Employee of the Month: Vicky Guratsky & Jenny Loughnane
Vicky and Jenny were jointly awarded Employee of the Month for February in recognition of their outstanding contribution to neonatal education and multidisciplinary team learning. Their dedication to staff development and collaborative learning has made a significant impact—congratulations to both on this well-deserved achievement!
Team of the month: Ellesmere Port Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation team
The Ellesmere Port Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation team were nominated for their friendly, professional approach and the outstanding support they provide to patients. Their collaborative care helps patients make visible progress in their recovery, creating a warm and encouraging environment. The dedication of the entire team—from therapists and nurses to support staff—shines through in every aspect of their work.

Employee of the month: Baki Kose, Domestics Team
Baki is a breath of fresh air in Moston Lodge. He is known to all the teams in this building and always goes above and beyond with his work. He is always so friendly and will always offer to help you and ensure everywhere is spotless. Nothing is ever too much to ask Baki if you need something
Team of the month: Legal Team
The Legal Team are always there to support staff, provide guidance and are truly experts in their field. I have personally witnessed them going above and beyond on multiple occasions, and they have an exceptional work ethic, in what can be extremely difficult, challenging and sometimes emotive situations

Employee of the month: Arthur Barrett
Arthur goes above and beyond by working outside of regular hours and proactively supporting staff across the Trust. Arthur's proactive approach to addressing the out-of-hours IT support is commendable.
Team of the month: Endoscopy
Our Endoscopy booking team is now the leading booking team in the region and have become an example of best practice with other regional Trusts adopting the approaches that this team are taking.

Employees of the month: Jen Clapham-Harvey & Lesley Roe, Bereavement Midwives
Jen and Lesley – who are both Bereavement Midwives – were nominated by colleagues for their commitment to going above and beyond to support families going through baby loss.
Team of the month: Domestic team
Members of the Domestics Team were nominated for the improvements seen in the recent PLACE assessment which recognised the cleanliness of our hospitals.

Employee of the month: Steph Williams, Ward Manager
Steph was nominated by colleagues for her excellent leadership skills and phenomenal response to patient experience. Steph strives everyday to embed the Trust’s values and has always shown exceptional leadership skills, which have been evident throughout her time as ward manager.
Team of the month: Porters
Members of the Portering Team were nominated by colleagues for their compassion and professionalism. The team have been praised for how they go above and beyond in their role. The team deserve recognition for the outstanding work they do. They work beyond their role and accommodate all departments in the Trust. They are a truly valuable and amazing team.
September 2024
Employee of the month: Mariya Joseph, Transfusion Nurse
Mariya has worked really hard to help wards achieve transfusion compliance and to promote safe practice. The ward complaince improved from 45% to 90%. she is one of the most hard working staff her team have ever seen.
Team of the month: Clinical Solutions and Data Warehouse Team
The team diligently prepared for the epr+ upgrade, working above and beyond to ensure the system was safe. The programme manager who nominated them said "I feel really proud and supported to have such a hardworking team".

Employee of the month: Georgia Fennel, Patient Pathway Manager
Georgia was nominated for being constant in her support of the whole team; she goes above and beyond to make sure the team are all ok mentally and is so understanding and caring whilst still remaining professional.

Hannah was nominated by colleagues for being an effective and efficient team leader and because of her day-to-day demeanour and her ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Hannah supports staff to feel confident, competent, supported and valued.
Team of the month: Cardiology Day Suite
The Cardiology Day Suite team was nominated by colleagues for making a positive difference to the lives of our patients and for making them feel safe, cared for and listen to. The team have been praised for how well they work together and for the excellent care they provide in in difficult circumstances.
