Making a Donation

Fundraising enables us to provide extra benefits and comforts for our patients and we welcome donations of any size. The hospital has over 80 areas that we raise money for. Together these make up the Countess Charity.

The Funds to donate to page on our website will provide you with more detailed information about our more major and 'popular' funds.

There are many ways in which you can make your donation:

Donations in Memory - This is a special way to thank for care received and can be directed to any area of the Hospital. We have envelopes that can be used at a funeral to ensure gift aid can be claimed. Please speak to your funeral director or call the office for more information.

In person - The Charity Office can be found in the reception area of our main building and our normal opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Over the phone - You can call the Charity Office and make a donation over the phone with one of the team. Just call 01244 366240.

Postal donations - Please make donations by cheque to 'The Countess Charity' and send to: The Countess Charity, COCH, Liverpool Road, Chester, CH2 1UL

Online Giving - For many people with busy lives, online giving offers an ideal way to support us. You can donate to us by visiting

Regular Giving - Receiving regular donations allows us to plan for our future. If you would like to show continued support for any of our hospital funds through regular donations please email:

Gift Aid -  If you Gift Aid your donation, we will continue to receive an additional 25p for every pound that you donate. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount that we will reclaim on the donation. To request a gift aid form please email:

Thanking staff - On occasions donors ask how they can support the staff involved in their care. Whilst we can not restrict a donation to the personal benefit of an individual or group of individuals, these donations can be used to support staff welfare, such as staff facilities or staff training and development.
